Swedish songstress Lykke Li revealed her music video for latest single "Get Some" this week, and the clip seems to address more than her lyrics suggest.
Li's video is an edgy yet psychedelic clip that goes well beyond her lyrical theme, and seems to provide fans with a bit of insight into the musical direction of her forthcoming album, which currently does not have a firm release date. However, Li announced 2011 tour dates this week, so we expect an announcement regarding the album will soon follow. Lykke Li's 2008 debut, "Youth Novels," reached No. 18 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart.
Filmed in black and white, the video is outwardly provocative, as Li sings, "I'm your prostitute / You gon get some / Like the shotgun need an outcome." While she is featured rather surprisingly throughout the video, few clips compare to the intensity of the barbaric reels in the background of her performance, or the voo-doo ritualistic screen shots that suggest there is something imminently dangerous in her words.
Boys, watch out.
